puttin on the braces did not hurt at all for me.. thats not the part that hurts..dont worry about that.
Orthodontists don’t jab anything.
The first day they put spacers between your back teeth, so that they have room to insert the clamps on your molars. That *****… it hurts for a day or two. That’s the most painful part of the whole brace having procedure, and it’s not unbearable. Then you come back and they glue the brackets on your teeth and run the wires through them. It irritates the inside of your cheeks sometimes, especially for the first couple of weeks, but they give you stuff for that.
I just had braces for 18 months and I never got jabbed.
They put cement on your teeth, and put the brackets on.
They use radio-waves to dry it quickly, and you’re done.
I have braces, check out my avatar. you don’t really have to worry about anything, except the pain afterward which goes away after a few days!
depending on how much room is in ur mouth will determine if u need ur teeth on ur gums extracted. they might be able to fit them in. you’ll probably have ur wisdom teeth extracted but they do that with the braces on. first they clean ur teeth a little bit and polish them, then they brush them with the glue which tastes horrible but u’re gonna taste it no matter what lol. then they sitck on the brackets (the little square things) and then the ortho comes over and aligns them. then they take a blue light which makes it stay. then they put wires in and use the rubber bands to keep the wires in place (u can pick colors). and that’s pretty much it. depending on ur teeth, they might do molds and stuff when you got ur braces on. good luck.
It is up to the orthrodontist if those teeth need to be pulled. If they are permanment teeth then most likely no. If he did pull them out then there would be nothing that would grow back.
The procedure of braces is really that simple. First they will put spacers in your mouth. Spacers are like little rubber bands that they put in your teeth so the braces go on easier without pain. I can’t say how many you will because it is different for everybody. Sorry! Then in the next week you will go back. They will remove the spacers and take an impression of your teeth. It is just a silly putty kind of stuff they put in your mouth for a minute or so. I guess this is for the braces. Then they put the spacers back in. They will probably take x-rays of your teeth, just so that they can tell if there was a huge change when you get your braces off. Then after another week, they will finally put your braces on. These doctors usally go a little crazy and when they come to see you, they say Today is the big day. Are you excited? But, don’t worry about it. I really don’t know why they say that either. May be they feel sorry for us! Lol! Anyways when you go there to get your braces, much sure you bring some chapstick. They put this plastic thing over your face so they can see all of your teeth. Your lips will get chapped from this, believe me. What they do is they take bracket by bracket and glue them on one by one to each of your teeth. This is not painful at all. They then take a ( sometimes blue ) bright light and put it over your teeth for the glue to dry. Then they weave the wire through each bracket and glue that in too. They have to make sure that each bracket is in the correct spot. If you want to have braces for the minimium of years, then don’t get the clear brackets or clear wires. They tend to go up higher on your teeth making your upper and bottom lip look bigger. This then causes it to take longer to fix your teeth. Your teeth will feel fine the very first day you get the braces, it’s the next day that hurts the most. You can take advil or ibeprofun to fix taht problem. The pain is different for all people, so you might feel more pain then others.
